Türkish and Syrian flags had been raised Friday on an iconic construction in Brussels to point out solidarity with these affected by earthquakes in southern Türkiye that killed or injured tens of hundreds and left many in want.
The flags had been positioned on high of one another on the best sphere of the Atomium, which is made up of huge steel spheres.
The initiative to lift the flags was made by Sevket Temiz, a Brussels regional member of parliament of Turkish origin. The Brussels Municipality granted permission.
Both flags will stay on the Atomium for in the future.
