White House expresses deep concern over the news of earthquakes impacting areas already devastated in Türkiye and Syria.

The US is “deeply concerned” after two extra earthquakes jolted Türkiye’s southernmost province of Hatay, the White House stated, promising that it could proceed to supply its full assist.
“We are deeply concerned by the news of earthquakes impacting areas already devastated in Türkiye and Syria,” National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan wrote on Twitter on Monday.
“The US will continue to extend our full support,” he added.

Two earthquakes jolted Hatay province Monday, simply two weeks after main quakes hit the area, the nation’s catastrophe administration company stated.
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), one of many quakes happened round 8.04 pm native time (1704GMT) in Defne district with a magnitude of 6.4, whereas the opposite one, with a magnitude of 5.8, happened three minutes later, with the epicenter in Samandag district.
