Tajik rescuers return from quake-hit Türkiye

A staff of rescuers from Tajikistan, which carried out search and rescue actions within the Turkish areas affected by the Feb. 6 earthquakes, returned to their nation on Wednesday.

According to info obtained from the Tajikistan Embassy in Ankara, the search and rescue staff of fifty individuals began working within the earthquake zones on Feb. 9, upon the instruction of Tajik President Imamali Rahman.

The staff rescued 5 individuals from the rubble in the course of the search and rescue operations in Kahramanmaras and Hatay, and located the our bodies of 217 individuals.

The staff was seen off with applause at Istanbul Airport.

At least 42,310 individuals have died within the two robust earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye on Feb. 6, in response to the nation’s catastrophe administration company.

In Syria, at the least 5,840 individuals have been killed within the lethal earthquakes.
