Japan on Monday stated it would finish the necessary requirement of COVID-19 checks for vacationers arriving within the nation from China.

“The government will adopt a selective approach to testing visitors from China instead of examining each of them,” Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno advised a news convention.

The new coverage will likely be adopted from Wednesday, Kyodo News reported.

Japan final month imposed restrictions on vacationers, asking for adverse COVID-19 checks from arrivals from China.

In retaliation, Beijing suspended visa issuance to Japanese residents, which was later resumed.

China dumped its “zero-COVID” coverage in December final yr, permitting full worldwide journey.
