The Canadian authorities on Monday banned TikTok from all of its telephones and different gadgets, citing considerations about knowledge safety.

Effective Tuesday, “the TikTok application will be removed from government-issued mobile devices. Users of these devices will also be blocked from downloading the application in the future,” the federal government stated in an announcement.

A TikTok spokesperson stated the Canadian resolution to dam TikTok was “curious” because it was taken “without citing any specific security concern” or session with the corporate.

Last week, Canada’s privateness commissioner launched an investigation into TikTok over its assortment and use of customers’ private info.
