Red Bull Chief Horner: Gender equality revs up in F1’s near future

Red Bull crew principal Christian Horner on Friday stated that it was virtually a foregone conclusion that gender equality would quickly be embraced in Formula One, following rumors of a crew trying to make an entrance into the game with an equal stability of female and male racers.

Former British American Racing (BAR) founder Craig Pollock advised CNN final week he needed to debut “Formula Equal” from the 2025 or 2026 season onward.

Alpine crew boss Otmar Szafnauer stated gender equality was “important to everybody in Formula One”.

“So anything we can do to increase diversity in F1 I think everyone here would welcome it,” he advised reporters in Melbourne.

“But I don’t know anything other than what I briefly read about their (Formula Equal) entry.”
