Israel to question Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher on Monday

Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Ekrima Sabri was summoned by Israel’s intelligence service for questioning, in line with his workplace on Sunday.

In a press release, the workplace mentioned Sabri will seem earlier than intelligence brokers on Monday, with out specifying the rationale for the summoning.

His lawyer Khaled Zabarka mentioned the Palestinian preacher didn’t commit any authorized violations.

“He is doing his normal religious work and interacts with all pressing issues,” he added in a Facebook publish.

The 84-year-old preacher was detained a number of instances by the Israeli forces up to now and was banned from getting into Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem for a number of months.

Sabri is a staunch critic of the decades-long Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. He had beforehand held the place of mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories from 1994 to 2006.
