Caretakers shower affection on giraffes at zoo in Türkiye’s Bursa

On the event of “World Giraffe Day,” caretakers at Bursa Zoo handled giraffes, the outdated residents of the zoo, with their favourite treats on Wednesday.

Tallest of all mammals, these giraffes often called “Pasha,” “Brave,” and “King,” who’ve been residing within the zoo for the previous 11 years, got particular consideration by two devoted employees members.

The giraffes have a specific fondness for oak and sycamore leaves, and in the course of the winter months, they’re supplied with “pickled leaves” since recent leaves are scarce.

Ergün Kuva, one of many caretakers, talking to Anadolu Agency (AA), famous that the giraffes often take 15-20 minutes to complete their meals.

“Giraffes are the world’s largest land mammals, so they can be aggressive, but they are generally gentle animals. We’re on good terms with them because we see spend longer time with them, than family and call them by names. We call them by their names. They recognize us and come. Giraffes are beautiful animals. We love them and want everyone (else) to love them,” Kuva mentioned.

Bursa Zoo, established in 1998 by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, encompasses an space of roughly 206,600 sq. meters (2,223,824 sq. ft) and is a full member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

It has world-class trendy grounds with 11 ponds, round 2,000 bushes, 150,000 crops, and animal habitats.
