Twitter threatening to sue Meta over new rival app Threads

Twitter is threatening to sue Facebook’s guardian firm Meta over its newly-launched rival app Threads, says a report by news web site Semafor.

In a letter, a Twitter lawyer accused Meta of utilizing confidential data and inside data of the quick message service for Threads, Semafor wrote on Thursday, publishing a duplicate of the letter.

Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro claimed within the letter that Meta had employed dozens of ex-employees of the quick message service who have been aware about confidential inside data.

Twitter proprietor and tech billionaire Elon Musk had laid off hundreds of workers since his takeover of the service final October. Many of them subsequently discovered new jobs at different tech firms.

Meta has denied the allegations, Semafor stated. There have been no former Twitter workers working within the Threads growth group, the agency reportedly stated.

Meta launched its Twitter competitor app on Wednesday evening.

Threads’ hyperlink with Instagram is seen as a major increase for Meta’s upstart competitor since it could actually draw on greater than 1 billion present Instagram customers.

The app raked in over 10 million customers within the first few hours after being launched, chief government Mark Zuckerberg introduced earlier.
