BoE hikes rate 14th time in row on high UK inflation

The Bank of England (BoE) on Thursday hiked its key rate of interest for a 14th time in a row, by a quarter-point to five.25% as UK inflation stays excessive.

Policymakers “will continue to monitor closely indications of persistent inflationary pressures”, the BoE mentioned in an announcement following a daily assembly.
