Musk offers legal aid for users in trouble at work over X posts

Elon Musk on Saturday mentioned his social media firm X, which was previously often called Twitter, would supply financial authorized assist to customers who face blowback from their bosses over posts on the platform.

Users, together with many celebrities and others within the public eye, have often discovered themselves in scorching water with their employers over controversial issues they’ve posted, appreciated or retweeted on the platform.

“If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill,” he wrote on the positioning.

“No limit. Please let us know.”

Musk gave no particulars on how customers might declare their cash.

Since the tycoon purchased the social media platform for $44 billion final October, its promoting business has collapsed, partly due to its looser method to blocking hate speech, and the return of beforehand banned far-right accounts.

Musk has repeatedly cited a want without spending a dime speech as motivating his modifications and lashed out at what he sees because the menace posed to free expression by altering cultural sensitivities.

According to the nonprofit group Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), hate speech has flourished on the platform.

X has disputed the findings and is suing the CCDH.

In December, Musk reinstated former U.S. President Donald Trump’s Twitter account, though Trump has but to return to the platform.

The ex-president was banned from Twitter in early 2021 for his function within the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol by a bunch of his supporters searching for to overturn the outcomes of the 2020 election.

X lately reinstated rapper and designer Kanye West round eight months after his account was suspended, in line with media experiences.

Last fall, West, who now goes professionally by Ye, posted a picture that appeared to point out a swastika interlaced with a Star of David, and Musk suspended the artist from the platform.
