TRT triumphs at 29th Sarajevo Film Festival with ‘Kanto’

Türkiye’s public broadcaster TRT was honored with an award on the twenty ninth Sarajevo Film Festival.

TRT competed with three award-winning movies: “Kanto,” “Club Zero,” “La Chimera” and “Blaga’s Lessons.”

More than 230 movies from 70 international locations had been screened on the pageant.

“Kanto” by director Ensar Altay, narrates the story of an aged lady who abruptly disappeared however her disappearance was not seen. Kanto was awarded the “Cinelink Impact Award” within the “Work in Progress” class.

The pageant ran from Aug. 11 and ended on Friday after a closing and awards ceremony.

The Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi collection, broadcast on TRT’s digital platform, Tabi, had its world premiere at SFF.

Forty-nine movies within the function movies, brief movies, documentary movies and scholar movies classes competed for the “Heart of Sarajevo” award – the title given to the awards.

The pageant started 29 years in the past to make the town a middle of tradition and artwork and assist heal the recollections of the Bosnian War within the Nineteen Nineties.

Past pageant attendees included luminaries similar to Robert de Niro, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig, Orlando Bloom, John Malkovich, Gerard Depardieu, Morgan Freeman and Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
