German authorities arrested a businessman for violating EU sanctions in opposition to Russia, prosecutors mentioned on Thursday.
Ulli S., a director of an organization within the state of Baden-Wurttemberg, exported varied machines to a Russian protection firm which manufactured sniper rifles, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office mentioned in a press release.
The suspect maintained long-standing business relationships with Russian arms producers, and regardless of the sanctions, he delivered six machines and arranged trainings for a Russian firm in 2015 and 2016, the prosecutors mentioned.
