EU high diplomat Josep Borrell stated on Tuesday that the EU “will not stop” till Iran releases an official from Sweden who has been in detention for over a 12 months.
Speaking to reporters on the casual assembly of EU improvement ministers in Cadiz, Spain, Borrell confirmed {that a} “Swedish citizen who worked for the European Union has been detained illegally in Iran for the last 500 days.”
His remarks got here after the US every day New York Times reported on Monday that Johan Florus, who labored for the EU’s diplomatic service, had been detained in Iran over costs of spying since final 12 months.
