Britain will formally declare Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, which has arrested seven individuals with hyperlinks to the United Kingdom over anti-government protests, as a terrorist group, the Telegraph reported on Monday, citing sources.
The transfer, which will likely be introduced inside weeks, is supported by Britain’s safety minister, Tom Tugendhat, and Home Secretary Suella Braverman, the report mentioned.
Proscribing Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group would imply that it could develop into a felony offence to belong to the group, attend its conferences, and carry its brand in public.

Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday urged Iran to cease detaining twin nationals, saying the apply shouldn’t be used to acquire “diplomatic leverage”.
