Israeli player leaves Türkiye after brief detention for ‘hate’ message

Israeli soccer participant Sagiv Jehezkel left Türkiye on Monday following a short detention for allegedly inciting hatred by displaying a provocative message towards Palestinians in Gaza throughout a Süper Lig sport.

The Antalyaspor participant was launched from custody after questioning by police and courtroom officers, a Turkish official stated.

It was not instantly clear if he was launched pending trial or if the accusations towards him had been dropped.

The participant left Türkiye of his personal will, and there was no choice to deport him, an official stated on situation of anonymity.

Jehezkel had been detained for questioning late Sunday after displaying a bandage on his wrist with the phrases “100 Days 7.10” – in reference to Oct. 7, the day of Hamas’ incursion on Israel – subsequent to a Star of David.
