At least 70 folks had been wounded after a magnitude 5.8 earthquake hit northwestern Iran close to Türkiye on Wednesday.
The quake struck close to the town of Khoy in West Azerbaijan province at 13:38 p.m. (1008 GMT), at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) stated.
The Seismological Center of the University of Tehran stated the earthquake was magnitude 5.4 and 12 kilometers (7.45 miles) deep.
At least “70 people were injured” attempting to flee to security and greater than 300 homes in 15 villages had been broken, state tv stated, citing officers from the realm.
