3,916 suspects nabbed in Istanbul’s first 2023 anti-drug operations

In the primary three weeks of the 12 months, 3,916 suspects had been caught within the operations carried out in 11 districts of Istanbul towards suspects who had been discovered to be concerned in drug trafficking, the Istanbul Police Department information revealed.

A complete of 613 kilograms and 250 grams of narcotic medication and 137,580 drugs had been seized throughout the searches carried out on the suspects’ addresses. Some 375 suspects who had been transferred to the courthouse after the procedures on the police station had been arrested and despatched to jail.

Istanbul Police Department Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch groups carried out an operation towards drug traffickers within the metropolis’s Fatih, Büyükçekmece, Esenyurt, Ümraniye, Bağcılar, Beşiktaş, Başakşehir, Silivri, Küçükçekmece, Bahçelievler and Avcılar districts on Jan. 1-21.

During the operations and searches carried out on the suspects’ premises, 540.83 kilograms of hashish, 34.81 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 127,680 ecstasy drugs, 9,900 Captagon drags, 63 hashish vegetation, 11 pistols and several other different sorts of weapons had been confiscated.
