The organizers of the Sarajevo Film Festival introduced that Charlie Kaufman, the Oscar-winning American author and director, might be honored with the distinguished Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award in recognition of his excellent contributions to the artwork of film-making on Monday.
“We are thrilled that, after 15 years, we’re welcoming again some of the important, world-renowned screenwriters and administrators to the Sarajevo Film Festival, and honor him for his work and dedication to the artwork of film-making,” mentioned the director of the competition, Jovan Marjanovic, in a press release.
“Charlie Kaufman is a rare filmmaker whose movies, although stuffed with biting humor, compel us to ponder existential depths of the human expertise,” Marjanovic added.
The twenty ninth version of the Sarajevo Film Festival will happen between Aug. 11 and 18.
The competition may even characteristic an open-air screening of his 2002 movie “Adaptation.”
In 2008, Kaufman was a visitor for the competition along with his directorial debut, “Synecdoche, New York.”
In 2020, he launched “I Am Thinking of Ending Things,” a psychological thriller based mostly on Iain Reid’s ebook bearing the identical title.
