Japan is on a mass culling spree, with practically 10 million birds already killed this session because the nation grapples with hen flu, authorities mentioned on Monday.
Japan has reported a file 56 infections in 23 of the nation’s 47 provinces this season after the primary case of hen flu was found at a poultry farm in western Okayama province final October.
“The number (of birds) culled soared to 9.98 million” as Ibaraki province, northeast of the capital Tokyo, started culling round 930,000 chickens after testing confirmed the presence of avian influenza, Kyodo News reported.
This is a file variety of birds culled in Japan as a result of influenza.
The earlier file cull was 9.87 million performed between November 2020 and March 2021, in keeping with Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.
