Attack On Referee: Faruk Koca Arrested | TR Daily News

President Faruk Koca, who attacked referee Halil Umut Meler with a punch after the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match performed within the fifteenth week of the Super League, was arrested.

Three suspects, together with MKE Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca, who had been detained throughout the scope of the investigation into the assault, had been despatched to the courthouse.

Ok.Ç., who attacked the referee and was detained yesterday night. and Ş.Y.Ş. He was delivered to Ankara Western Courthouse. Meanwhile, 3 extra individuals had been detained throughout the scope of the investigation.

Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca and two different individuals who punched Halil Umut Meler on the finish of the match had been arrested.

The arrested Koca was taken to Sincan Prison.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, MKE Ankaragücü President Faruk Koca and suspects Ş. Y.S. and Ok. Ç. had been arrested for injuring a public official leading to a fracture within the sports activities area as a result of his public obligation.

Minister Tunç’s submit on his social media account is as follows;

“On 11/12/2023, after the Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor Trendyol Super League match, all the suspects who went down to the field and participated in the act of violence against the referee of the match and the fans who went down to the field after the match were accused of violating the Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports and acting as a public official in accordance with the Turkish Penal Code.” Within the scope of the investigation initiated by our Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of damage and menace as a result of his public obligation,

Suspects F. Ok., Ş. Y.S. and Ok.C. Following his statements taken by our Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, he was arrested by the Ankara West Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty, for injuring a public official in a sports activities area, leading to a fracture, as a result of his public obligation.

The suspects, who had been decided to have gone onto the sphere on the finish of the match from video evaluation, had been R. Ok., Ö.O.Ü, V.D. A judicial management choice was requested towards him in accordance with Law No. 6222.”
