AI bot ChatGPT faces growing scrutiny in Europe

France’s knowledge regulator stated on Wednesday it had obtained two complaints in regards to the AI program ChatGPT, as European authorities deepened their scrutiny of the chatbot days after Italy banned it.

ChatGPT, created by US agency OpenAI, has supplied a worldwide hit by demonstrating a capability to generate essays, poems and conversations from the briefest of prompts — in addition to passing robust exams.

She wrote in her grievance that when she tried to enroll in a ChatGPT account she was not requested for consent to any basic phrases of use or privateness coverage.

The different grievance got here from David Libeau, a developer who wrote in his submission he had discovered private details about himself when he requested ChatGPT about his profile.

“When I asked for more information, the algorithm started to make up stories about me, creating websites or organising online events that were totally false,” he wrote.
