China will restructure its science and expertise ministry to raised allocate assets for tackling challenges in key applied sciences and to maneuver quicker in the direction of self-reliance, the official state news company Xinhua reported on Tuesday.
The announcement comes amid repeated calls from China’s paramount chief Xi Jinping urged the nation to cut back its dependence on overseas expertise amid a rising listing of U.S. export controls which have hit many Chinese corporations and industries.
The restructuring of the central authorities ministry was included in a reform plan of state establishments submitted to parliament.
