The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated Wednesday it’s opening a preliminary investigation into 120,000 2023 Model Y after two reviews of steering wheels fully detaching whereas driving.

The auto security regulator stated each automobiles had been at low mileage when the incidents occurred and delivered to house owners lacking the retaining bolt that attaches the steering heel to the steering column. The company is opening a preliminary investigation to evaluate the “scope, frequency, and manufacturing processes associated with this condition.”
