Swiss prosecutors launch case over Credit Suisse dirty money data leak

Swiss federal prosecutors have launched legal proceedings focusing on the perpetrators of a 2022 leak of data on hundreds of Credit Suisse accounts Friday.

The leak lined over 18,000 accounts, together with human rights abusers, fraudsters and businessmen topic to sanctions, plunging Switzerland’s greatest financial institution into a unclean cash scandal.

The accounts, which had been held from the Forties to the 2010s, had been leaked final February to Germany’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung, which shared it with media organizations worldwide.

The id of the individual or group answerable for the leak stays unknown.

Prosecutors stated the alleged offenses within the case violated banking secrecy legal guidelines, harm brought on to Credit Suisse and made confidential business data obtainable to overseas organizations or their brokers.

They took motion after receiving a proper grievance.
