Türkiye’s information safety authority penalized the favored messaging app WhatsApp and its dad or mum firm Meta for failing to register within the Data Controllers’ Registry.
The Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) slapped an administrative high-quality of two.6 million liras ($140,000) on every agency, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported Wednesday.
The KVKK additionally ordered Meta and WhatsApp to enroll within the registry inside 30 days.
In September 2021, the KVKK imposed an administrative high-quality of TL 1.95 million ($235,000) on WhatsApp for not taking the required technical and administrative measures to stop the illegal processing of non-public information.
