176 suspects detained in anti-drug operations across Istanbul

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said that 176 folks had been detained and 26 kilograms (57 kilos) of narcotic medication had been seized throughout operations carried out by the Istanbul Police’s Department Anti-Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate throughout the province on Friday.

Soylu launched an announcement on his official Twitter account relating to “Operation Rooting,” hailing the work of police personnel working below Istanbul Police’s Department Anti-Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate.

“Continue until total eradication. Our Istanbul Provincial Anti-Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate seized 26 kilograms of narcotic drugs and 84,325 ecstasy/captagon pills, while a total of 176 people have been taken into custody after operations across Istanbul on Jan. 12.”

The newest Istanbul anti-narcotics operation follows the nationwide campaigns carried out between Jan. 2-8 in Kocaeli, Manisa, Kahramanmaraş and Denizli. An enormous anti-narcotics operation carried out below the Interior Ministry’s supervision was additionally undertaken within the western metropolis of Uşak on Tuesday by which 120 suspects had been detained.
