25 years later: Türkiye’s METU buries time capsule

“We buried it about 2.5 meters (around 6 feet) underground in the ‘Time Park’ created in the forested area of the campus. We buried the capsule to be opened on July 11, 2048, on ‘Alumni Day’ to be held 25 years later,” Kalay stated.

An identical time capsule was made by Boğaziçi University in 2014 as a part of its A hundred and fiftieth-anniversary occasions. The capsule was additionally buried underground to be opened 50 years later.

During the ceremony, problems with native newspapers of that day, eating corridor menus, posters of scholars and memorial supplies have been positioned contained in the capsule. The college’s capsule was buried on campus, in entrance of the rectorate constructing, and can be opened in 2064.
