Akgöl Lake in Türkiye’s Konya welcomes mesmerizing flamingo flocks

The arrival of migratory flamingos has remodeled the looks of Akgöl Lake and its reeds, leading to a pink hue that has caught the eye of native photographers aiming to seize breathtaking scenes.

Situated alongside a big migratory chicken route in Türkiye, the reeds of Akgöl present a habitat for quite a few species, together with flamingos.

These flamingos are anticipated to remain across the lake till the top of summer time and entice the eye of pictures fanatics and nature lovers with their collective flights, notably throughout sundown.

Tamer Gümüş, the president of the Ereğli Anatolian Photography and Cinema Amateurs Association, advised Anadolu Agency (AA) that Akgöl’s environment have revived with the arrival of the spring season.

Stating that many chicken species dwell within the space, Gümüş mentioned: “This is a reed area of great importance for migratory birds. Therefore, it is home to various birds, especially flamingos. We often attempt to photograph birds at sunrise and sunset and take advantage of the blessings nature offers us. This is a rare place for bird photographers to get (some) good shots.”

A resident of the area, Bülent Tatır, mentioned: “This is our bird paradise. Different kinds of birds come here in summer and winter. Our lake becomes even more beautiful with the increasing water levels and birds in the spring.”

Memduh Ekici, one of many photographers, enjoyment of capturing photographs at completely different occasions all through the seasons in Akgöl, a spot they go to recurrently.

Oğuz Özsarı, a nature fanatic and member of the Ereğli Mountaineering and Sports Club, shared that they steadily embark on climbing journeys to Akgöl with their group, remarking: “Every time we visit, nature greets us with special surprises. We experience a profound sense of peace and happiness here, escaping from the stresses of life.”
