The Development Road mission stretching from the Iraqi province of Basra to the Turkish border is predicted to enter the implementation part inside a number of months, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Friday.

“However, it should be known that in our region, the effective and sustainable operation of energy and transportation corridors without Türkiye’s involvement is not possible.”
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which connects the Turkic world to Europe by way of the Caspian Sea, and the Development Road that can go by means of Iraq to Türkiye, underscore Türkiye’s central position, he added.
