During a every day press convention, Anitta Hipper addressed the query relating to the explanations behind the elevated rejection charge for Schengen visa purposes from Türkiye.
Anitta Hipper stated: “I must say frankly, there is no special situation regarding Türkiye in this sense.”
Furthermore, Hipper acknowledged that there have been delays in visa analysis processes as a result of Covid-19 outbreak. She acknowledged, “Demand is increasing again recently, and this may occasionally impact visa procedures. However, I want to emphasize that this is not an exclusive situation for Türkiye.”
On the query of whether or not the EU will take any initiative to deal with the problem, Hipper acknowledged that visa assessments are all the time performed on a person foundation and are inside the duty and jurisdiction of the member states.
