Jordan to accelerate aid delivery to quake victims in Türkiye, Syria

Jordan plans to speed up the supply of humanitarian help to the victims of two lethal earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.

“The Jordan Hashemite charity organization is preparing 14 aid trucks to be sent to Syria,” the group’s secretary-general, Hussein al-Shebli, mentioned on Saturday.

“A plane loaded with humanitarian aid will also be flown to Türkiye on Monday,” he added.

According to al-Shebli, the help vans will probably be delivered to the quake victims in Syria by means of UN organizations.

At least 40,642 folks have been killed and over 108,000 others injured in two highly effective earthquakes that rocked southern Türkiye on Feb. 6, based on the most recent official figures.

The magnitude 7.7 and seven.6 earthquakes, centered within the Kahramanmaraş province, affected greater than 13 million folks throughout 11 provinces, together with Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye,Elazığ and Şanlıurfa.
