Over 800,000 liters of illegal fuel seized in Istanbul

Over 800,000 unlawful gas, often called ‘Number 10 oil,’ was seized in Istanbul Wednesday. The Istanbul Police Department Anti-Smuggling Crimes Branch groups began work on gas smuggling beneath the coordination of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

It has been decided that unlawful oil, which has comparable traits as diesel oil, is produced from waste mineral oil collected from the markets, flammable solvents and thinner and fuel-oil spinoff merchandise. All these merchandise are then combined and processed by the recycling firm working within the Tuzla district.

The groups seized 806,009 liters of quantity 10 oil in an operation and held two suspects, recognized as M.Ok. and F.Ö., in custody.
