Last week, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu introduced {that a} Turkish delegation will go to Moscow for technical talks forward of a deliberate Turkish, Russian, Iranian, and Syrian overseas ministers’ assembly.
A gathering on Syria on the degree of deputy overseas ministers between Türkiye, Russia, Iran and Syria might be held in Moscow on March 15-16, Turkish diplomatic sources has mentioned.
“The Iranian side will also attend this meeting. At this meeting, preparations for the foreign ministers’ meeting will be made,” Cavusoglu mentioned at a joint news convention along with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian within the capital Ankara on Monday.
The assembly might be attended by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burak Akcapar, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, their Syrian counterpart Ayman Susan, and Ali Asghar Khaji, a senior adviser to Iran’s overseas minister.

On December 28, 2022, the Turkish, Russian, and Syrian protection ministers met in Moscow to debate counterterrorism efforts in Syria and agreed to proceed the tripartite conferences to make sure stability in Syria and the broader area.
About the potential for the inclusion of Iran into the talks, Türkiye beforehand mentioned Ankara could be “pleased if Iran is involved in this process.”
Although no date or location has but been introduced, the overseas ministers’ assembly would mark one other high-level discuss for the reason that Syrian civil warfare started in 2011.
