Swedish Security Service: PKK/YPG terror group financed in Sweden

Under a memorandum signed between Türkiye, Sweden, and Finland, the 2 Nordic international locations pledged to take steps towards terrorists to achieve membership within the NATO alliance.

Swedish Security Service (SAPO) has said that the terrorist organisation PKK/YPG has an energetic monetary community in Sweden receiving important funds. 

“I will not reveal the figures, but I can say that the PKK terrorist organisation provides significant financing for terrorism in our country”, SAPO Deputy Head of Counter-Terrorism Department Susanna Trehörning advised Swedish state broadcaster SVT. 

Stating that they’re working to determine suspects, Trehörning famous that they caught an individual who was gathering ‘donations’ to the terrorist organisation PKK/YPG at their office final week.

Previously, Sweden’s Chief Negotiator for NATO Membership Oscar Stenström mentioned that organised crime gangs finance the PKK. 

“Unlike Finland, the PKK has more financial resources in Sweden,” he advised to his nation’s state radio SR on January 29.

Sweden’s NATO bid

Under a memorandum signed final June between Türkiye, Sweden, and Finland, the 2 Nordic international locations pledged to take steps towards terrorists to achieve membership within the NATO alliance.

In the settlement, Sweden and Finland agreed to not present assist to terrorist teams such because the PKK and its offshoots, and the Fetullah Terrorist Organisation (FETO), and to extradite terror suspects to Türkiye, amongst different steps.
