Turkish farmer in southern Mersin makes tractor toys from trash

A 49-year-old farmer residing within the Erdemli district of Türkiye’s southern Mersin is making toy tractors from waste supplies and gifting them to youngsters.

Mustafa Ercan, who resides within the Küstülü neighborhood, developed an curiosity in making toys from a younger age. Improving his abilities daily, Ercan began making toy tractors utilizing discarded home goods, aluminum containers, spray cans and rubber footwear.

Ercan, who takes nice pleasure in creating numerous toy tractors, items them to youngsters and infrequently showcases a few of his works in his yard.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), he defined that he spends his free time making toys and recycling waste supplies. He famous that creating one thing and bringing pleasure to youngsters makes him really feel good.

“I’ve had an interest in tractors since my childhood. I make tractors by repurposing waste materials. I enjoy working with them. So far, I have made over 100 toys. I don’t sell them; I give them as gifts, especially to my nephews, cousins and children who ask me to make toys during holidays,” he defined.

Meliha Aytekin, Mustafa Ercan’s sister, remarked that her brother could be very skillful and hopes he achieves even larger success.

Ercan’s nephew, Barış Kökten, wished to make toys like his uncle.

Ali Issı, the mukhtar of the Küstülü neighborhood, recalled that he grew up in the identical village as Ercan and stated: “Since our village is rural, it wasn’t possible to access toys. We grew up with the toys Mustafa created from waste materials. Mustafa has a great talent.”
