The Turkish navy has detected a minimum of 28 suspicious objects within the Black Sea, in accordance with native authorities in Istanbul.
Investigations carried out by the underwater protection forces revealed that the objects had been unexploded artillery shells, the governor’s workplace stated in an announcement.
Off northeastern Istanbul province, a diving crew on Sunday retrieved a few of the objects that had been encircled in a safety parameter following stories of their presence two days earlier.
“At least 28 pieces of ammunition were detected. Out of the identified munitions, eight of them, which could be safely brought ashore, were taken to the SAS Group Command for identification and disposal,” it stated.
Noting that underwater protection forces continued to brush the realm, the assertion stated the disposal of the recognized munitions could be carried out on Wednesday “after necessary safety measures have been taken.”
