On Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry known as upon the German Ambassador in Ankara, Jurgen Schulz, following the arrest of Turkish journalists by German police in Frankfurt.

The transfer signifies a diplomatic response by the Turkish authorities, expressing concern over the detention of the journalists and looking for clarification from the German authorities relating to the incident.

The summoning of the German Ambassador highlights the significance Ankara locations on the safety of its residents overseas and its dedication to safeguarding press freedom.

Turkish overseas ministry denounced the “harassment and intimidation” of the reporters, who work for the Sabah day by day’s Frankfurt bureau.

It mentioned the alleged arrests had been “a deliberate act“, coming days after the primary spherical of May 14 presidential and parliamentary elections.

“Germany’s action against the free press, which aims to teach the whole world about the freedom of press and expression, reveals its double-standard approach,” the ministry mentioned.
