Turkish president reiterates resolve to heal wounds of earthquake victims

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday reiterated his resolve to heal the injuries of the victims of dual earthquakes that hit the nation’s southern area on Feb. 6 and claimed greater than 50,000 lives.

“I hope we will heal our wounds as soon as possible. We will restore our cities destroyed by the earthquakes,” Erdoğan mentioned at a ceremony in Istanbul.

Türkiye plans to assemble sufficient buildings in a 12 months to satisfy the wants of the quake victims, Erdoğan mentioned, including that 319,000 homes could be constructed within the first 12 months and 650,000 in complete.

Magnitude 7.7 and seven.6 quakes struck 11 Turkish provinces-Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Hatay, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaras, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Sanliurfa.

Around 14 million folks in Türkiye have been affected by the quakes, in addition to many others in northern Syria.
