Turkish Red Crescent distributes meat to 3,000 Yemeni families on Eid Al-Adha

Turkish Red Crescent distributes meat to 3,000 Yemeni families on Eid Al-Adha

The Turkish Red Crescent on Wednesday started distributing meat to three,000 households in 4 Yemeni provinces on the event of Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice.

The head of the Turkish Red Crescent department in Yemen, Ibrahim Obaid, instructed Anadolu that the meat distribution is happening in Aden, Abyan, Lahij and Dhali.

“The distribution process, which continues until the third day of Eid, includes the poorest families, people with special needs, orphans, displaced people, and women,” Obaid mentioned.

The Muslim vacation commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, or Abraham, to sacrifice his son at God’s command, earlier than the last-minute divine substitute of a ram. During the vacation, sacrificed meat is distributed to the needy.

Since the outbreak of the combating in Yemen, the Turkish Red Crescent has been offering numerous humanitarian help to the displaced and people affected by the warfare, in addition to serving to the poorest households.

Yemen has been engulfed by violence and instability since 2014, when Iranian-aligned Houthi rebels captured a lot of the nation, together with the capital Sanaa. The scenario escalated when a Saudi-led army coalition entered the warfare in 2015 to reverse Houthi army good points and reinstate the Yemeni authorities.
