Turkish, Russian and Syrian defence ministers and intelligence chiefs have met in Moscow to debate the Syrian disaster.

According to an announcement from the Turkish Defence Ministry on Wednesday, the nation’s Defence Minister Hulusi Akar together with the top of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Hakan Fidan met Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu and Syrian regime’s Defence Minister Mahmud Abbas and intelligence chiefs of the 2 nations.

During the assembly, the Syrian disaster, the refugee drawback and joint efforts to fight terrorist organisations in Syrian territory have been mentioned.

The assertion dubbed the assembly as constructive, saying it was agreed that such tripartite conferences and discussions would proceed to make sure and keep stability in Syria and the area.

“Ways of resolving the Syrian crisis and the problem of refugees as well as joint efforts to combat extremist groups in Syria have been discussed,” the Russian Defence Ministry stated in a separate assertion.

The assembly got here after Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated earlier this month that leaders of Türkiye, Russia and Syria might meet for talks after a gathering of intelligence, defence and overseas officers.

“Currently, we want to take a step with Syria and Russia, as a trio. For this, first, our intelligence organisations should come together, then our defence ministers and, then our foreign ministers should meet,” Erdogan had stated.
