Turkish police have detained 12 individuals over collapsed buildings within the southeastern provinces of Gaziantep and Sanliurfa, native media reported Saturday, following the massive quake that hit Türkiye.

Those taken into custody included contractors, DHA news company stated. At least 6,000 buildings collapsed after a 7.8-magnitude tremor hit the area, killing almost 25,000 individuals.
