Türkiye reiterates ‘illegal annexation’ of Crimea, voices support for Kiev

Türkiye has reiterated its long-time coverage in opposition to recognising the unlawful annexation of Crimean Peninsula, calling it a “violation of international law”.

In an announcement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry voiced assist to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity on the event of the ninth anniversary of the annexation.

“The situation of the Crimean Tatar Turks, who are the principal constituents of Crimea, is always a priority for our country,” mentioned the ministry.

In 2014, Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula, a transfer extensively seen as unlawful by the worldwide group, together with Türkiye and the UN General Assembly.
