Türkiye rescues 43 irregular migrants pushed back by Greece

The Turkish coast guard mentioned on Thursday that it rescued 43 irregular migrants who have been illegally pushed again into Turkish territorial waters within the Aegean Sea by Greek authorities.

The Coast Guard Command mentioned in a press release posted on its web site that groups have been dispatched off the coast of Dalaman district in Türkiye’s Mugla province after receiving details about 14 irregular migrants.

The irregular migrants have been delivered to shore and brought to the provincial migration administration directorate, it added.

Separately, 29 irregular migrants pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces have been rescued off the coast of Dikili district in Türkiye’s Izmir province, based on one other coast guard assertion.

Türkiye and world rights teams have repeatedly condemned Greece’s unlawful follow of pushing again irregular migrants, saying it violates humanitarian values and worldwide legislation by endangering the lives of weak migrants, together with girls and youngsters.

Türkiye has been a key transit level for irregular migrants desirous to cross into Europe to begin new lives, particularly these fleeing warfare and persecution.
