Türkiye on Tuesday rescued 141 irregular migrants who had been illegally pushed again into Turkish territorial waters by Greece, authorities stated.

The coast guard groups had been dispatched off the coast of Karaburun, Seferihisar, Dikili, and Menderes districts within the Aegean province of Izmir following reviews of irregular migrants on boats, the Turkish Coast Guard stated in an announcement.

As many as 111 irregular migrants had been rescued, the assertion added.

Separately, groups had been dispatched off the coast of Ayvacık within the northwestern Çanakkale province after the coast guard discovered that there have been irregular migrants in an inflatable boat, and 30 individuals had been rescued.

The migrants had been taken to provincial migration places of work.

Türkiye has been a key transit level for irregular migrants eager to cross into Europe to begin new lives, particularly these fleeing conflict and persecution.

Human rights teams and media retailers have steadily reported on unlawful pushbacks and different human rights breaches by Greek authorities.
