Türkiye and Sudan on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in agriculture and animal husbandry.
“I hope it will be a concrete project for the development of Türkiye-Sudan relations and the development of Sudan. Good luck to both countries,” Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay stated after the ceremony together with Sudanese Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hussein Osman Elderi within the capital Ankara.
The settlement consists of the event of agricultural manufacturing, livestock merchandise and processing trade, in addition to joint cooperation and growing bilateral commerce.
As a part of the settlement, Türkiye will perform a holistic technical analysis on irrigation infrastructure for Sudan’s mega mission Alhawad.
Research can be carried out in coordination with the Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Ministry, and the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources of Sudan.
Within the scope of the Alhawad Project, a pilot farm can be established for seed enchancment, improvement of pure pastures and animal manufacturing. Support may even be supplied to livestock and agriculture farmers concerned.
In the sphere of power, actions carried out by the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) in Sudan can be expanded and cooperation strengthened.
Delegations of the 2 Turkish ministries will go to Sudan within the coming days to start with the duty.
