Türkiye’s IHH delivers humanitarian aid to war-torn Sudan

An Istanbul-based help group, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), has shipped 15 containers stuffed with humanitarian aid supplies to conflict-hit Sudan.

Food, hygiene merchandise and blankets have been despatched to the nation by sea, the IHH stated in a press release on Wednesday.

About 200,000 folks will profit from this help, it added.

Sudan has been ravaged by clashes between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April, in a battle that has killed some 3,000 civilians and injured hundreds, based on native medics.

Several cease-fire agreements brokered by Saudi and U.S. mediators between the warring rivals have failed to finish the violence.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimates that just about 3 million folks have been displaced by the battle in Sudan.

In July, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the continuing battle in Sudan might spiral right into a full-scale civil battle.
