2 US navy sailors arrested for allegedly spying for China

Two US Navy servicemembers had been arrested on expenses of ”transmitting delicate navy info” to China, the Justice Department stated Thursday.

Active-duty sailor Jinchao Wei, also referred to as Patrick Wei, is accused of conspiracy to ship nationwide protection info to an intelligence officer working for China, based on the indictment.

In a separate case, Navy servicemember Wenheng Zhao, also referred to as Thomas Zhao, 26, was charged with receiving bribes in trade for transmitting delicate navy info to an intelligence officer from China.

”These people stand accused of violating the commitments they made to guard the United States and betraying the general public belief, to the good thing about the PRC authorities,” stated Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen.
