340,000 hens to be culled after salmonella found in Sweden

After salmonella was present in a hen farm in Sweden, 340,000 laying hens are to be culled, media together with the Swedish broadcaster SVT reported on Monday.

Salmonella was found in two barns of the nation’s largest egg producer CA Cedergren. The competent authority had due to this fact determined that each one animals within the affected services needed to be culled.

Already in January and February, 160,000 animals every needed to be killed in CA Cedergren hen farms due to salmonella.

According to the report, the newest findings concerned the identical genetic strands of the bacterium.
