German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday condemned riots by supporters of Brazil’s ex-leader Jair Bolsonaro and voiced solidarity with the federal government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
“The violent attacks on democratic institutions are an assault on democracy which is intolerable,” Scholz stated on Twitter. “We stand closely by President @LulaOficial and Brazilians!”
